Obsidium's SafeTsmart software is a three tier application. It has a Windows based and Web-based clients, a common middle layer application server on top of an Oracle Database.
The Windows client is typically deployed to key personnel, with the web based interface available to all users requiring such access. The Windows client connects to the application server via a HTTP or HTTPS based soap communication layer. The middle layer is a J2EE based application, requiring a web server and J2EE application server, although these are typically provided by a single product. The database layer runs on any of the latest Oracle databases.
SafeTsmart can integrate with exisiting applications via SafeTsmart connect. This allows integration with HRIS products and any other relevent infomation source. The integration engine is another J2EE based application which can reside on the same J2EE application server.
SafeTsmart runs under all major application servers. Oracle Application Server, WebSphere, JBoss, and Apache Tomcat are all examples of web application servers that SafeTsmart has been deployed on.
